Russian media are spreading information about a deliberate strike by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on the "Moloko" supermarket in Donetsk this morning. It is claimed that the attack was carried out using the "American HIMARS multiple-launch rocket system (MLRS)". Reports mention five craters from these rockets and three injured residents of Donetsk.
At the same time, OstroV’s sources in Donetsk report hearing six explosions and observing russian air defense systems in action. This suggests the “strike” on the supermarket might actually be the result of falling debris from intercepted rockets.
This version seems more plausible, as it raises the question: why would the AFU waste expensive HIMARS missiles on a grocery store, especially during off-hours?
It’s evident that the real target was elsewhere.
For instance, Donetsk-based Telegram channels report the destruction of a certain "Baikal enterprise" located near the supermarket. According to the tax database of the "DNR", its activity involves "mechanical processing of metal products", suggesting a possible military purpose for the facility.
Additionally, near the site of the debris fall is the "Yuzhniigiprogaz" institute, specializing in servicing russian gas processing plants and developing gas and oil fields.
Earlier, reports from occupied Donetsk mentioned a HIMARS attack.
