"From all Europeans? 200,000 (peacekeepers are needed in Ukraine after the war ends - OstroV), this is the minimum. Otherwise, it is nothing", - stated President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky during the World Economic Forum in Davos on January 21, as reported by Deutsche Welle.
It is noted that Zelensky made this comment in response to a question about the idea of deploying a peacekeeping contingent in Ukraine after the war ends.
He emphasized that such forces would only be part of the security guarantees Ukraine requires.
The President of Ukraine also mentioned a possible demand from putin to reduce the Ukrainian army by five times. According to Zelensky, "...a significant reduction of the Ukrainian army" would be one of the key points during potential peace negotiations.
"It's clear: if we were able to create an army of over 800,000, then we, along with Europe, form a force capable not only of defending but also of standing up to putin", - Zelensky said, stressing that Kyiv would not agree to these demands.
It was previously reported that France and the United Kingdom are discussing the deployment of peacekeeping forces to Ukraine.
