“This won’t work without the U.S. Even if some European friends believe it’s possible – no, it’s not. First of all, no one will take the risk without the U.S. Secondly, it could divide NATO, split the U.S. and the European Union. This is putin’s dream – to fracture this alliance”, - stated President Zelensky in an interview with Bloomberg, as reported by the Telegram channel "Radio Svoboda".
The President of Ukraine also agreed that peacekeepers should be stationed on the front line alongside Ukrainian troops “because that would mean security”.
“They won’t just be relaxing. This is very important because I’ve heard some allies say, ‘Yes, it’s fine, we can be stationed in the center of some city’. No, no, we don’t need such a contingent”, – Zelensky emphasized.
He also expressed the opinion that China, together with U.S. President Donald Trump, could push putin toward peace. “But not without us, that’s important”, - Zelensky noted.
As reported earlier, Zelensky stated the necessity of 200,000 European peacekeepers after the cessation of hostilities in Ukraine.
