Miners cannot get salary arrears due to the fault of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine. It was stated by Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine Igor Nasalyk today at the press conference in Kiev, - reports the correspondent of OstroV.

"At the last meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers we have managed in a tough debate to take 200 million from other programmes and transfer to salary ... We cannot use these 200 million because some clerk sit at the Ministry of Finance sits, picks his nose, and cannot sign, scratching his head ... So we cannot today prepay this first form of salaries," - he said.

The Minister also noted that salary arrears to miners would have been repaid until August 28th.

"Until August 28th we will have repaid salary arrears which consists of t 200 million plus 150 million which DTEK hasn’t paid to us yet - it's Lvovugol, but it does not solve the problem. That is why we have an integral programme on mines," - noted I.Nasalyk.

"We will not pay as paid before, one mine went on strike - we paid, the second went on strike - we paid, because it gives rise to injustice," – added the Minister.

Miners of Krasnoarmeyskugol and Selidovugol SE (Donetsk region) went on hunger strike in the building of the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine due to non-payment of salaries. As head of the Independent Trade Union of Miners Mikhail Volynets wrote on his page on Facebook, mines of Selidovugol SE: Ukraina, Kurakhovskaya, 1/3 Novogrodovskaya, Rossia, as well as t Stakhanov mine of Krasnoarmeyskugol SE stopped work. The miners refused to work to protest. People do not believe the promises. Miners and their families are desperate," - he wrote.
