The Australian government has received a message from russia regarding the fate of Australian volunteer Oscar Jenkins, who fought for Ukraine. According to the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, citing Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, the russian ambassador claimed that the Australian volunteer is being held in custody on russian territory and is in stable health.
"I don’t want to confirm that this is the case, but of course, this is the statement made by russian authorities to our department", - the Australian Prime Minister said, adding that the government is seeking confirmation of the information from russia.
Initially, it was believed that Jenkins had been killed by russian forces after a video of his capture surfaced last month.
