As reported at a briefing by Dmytro Pozharsky, head of the department for social services provision of the Donetsk OMA's social protection department, free housing continues to be provided for those in need who have nowhere to go—123 people were accommodated for free in January.
According to him, during evacuation, residents of the Donetsk oblast most often choose central Ukraine, trying to stay closer to their native region.
Thus, in January, temporary housing was provided for: 14 people in the Vinnytsia oblast,10 people in the Cherkasy oblast,11 people in the Kirovohrad oblast, 28 people in the Dnipropetrovsk oblast.
Pozharsky also noted that families with children are being taken either to Zakarpattia or, with the support of the "Save Ukraine" foundation, to a shelter in the Lviv oblast.
According to him, 90 children still need to be evacuated from the 14 settlements in the Donetsk oblast where mandatory evacuation continues.
Over the past week, 66 minors were evacuated from settlements in the Donetsk oblast where forced evacuation of families with children is ongoing.
