If confirmed that Ukrainian drone strikes damaged the pipeline system supplying Ust-Luga, leading to a prolonged suspension of oil shipments from the port, it would pose a new significant threat to the global oil market. This was reported by Bloomberg, citing a source.
According to the agency, in 2023, Ust-Luga port transported approximately 650,000 barrels of oil daily, accounting for about 20% of all russian seaborne oil exports. At the same time, oil reserves in port storage facilities may allow for partial compensation of a potential export reduction.
