The State Environmental Inspectorate in the Luhansk oblast is recording the losses, Luhansk Oblast Military Administration head Artem Lysohor reported on January 31.

"As of January 31, 2025, the total losses amount to nearly 618 billion UAH ($14.8 billion). Specifically, land contamination has caused 314.8 billion UAH in damage. The consequences of forest fires have been estimated at 298.4 billion UAH", - Lysohor noted.

Additionally, water contamination has resulted in losses of nearly 4.2 billion UAH.

The burning of gas has caused 324.7 million UAH in damage, while other fires have led to 42.9 million UAH in losses.

Earlier reports indicated that in the occupied Luhansk oblast, populations of foxes and wolves have increased, with the animals attacking calves and dogs.
