President Volodymyr Zelensky will lead the Ukrainian delegation at the Munich Security Conference next week, where U.S. Vice President J. Vance and Special Representative for Ukraine and russia Keith Kellogg are expected to participate. This was reported by the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, in an interview with Associated Press.
According to Yermak, the Ukrainian delegation will present the country’s position on ending the war and its views on how to achieve a "lasting and strong peace".
"Leaders and political experts attending Munich need to realize that this is a momentum. That we are very close to the true end of this war with a just and lasting peace, but we must stay united… to prevent russia from dividing the world and its partners", - Yermak said.
He hopes that at the Munich meeting, Ukraine will discuss what security guarantees can be introduced to prevent another act of aggression from russia.
The Head of the Office of the President said that there is no scheduled date yet for a meeting between Zelensky and Trump, but he reiterated that it should happen as soon as possible, adding that "we are working on it".
Yermak also confirmed that Trump’s special representative for Ukraine and russia will visit Kyiv after the Munich Security Conference, approximately at the end of February.
It was previously reported that the U.S. is ready to tighten sanctions against russia to end the war.
