"We have more than 46,000 soldiers killed. ... Tens of thousands more are missing or in captivity. And we cannot know for sure, because those missing may be dead or in captivity", - President Volodymyr Zelensky said in an interview with NBC News, as reported by NV.
The President of Ukraine also stated that "there are more than 350,000, I think approximately 380,000" wounded.
"There are 20,000 deported children, deported to russia. Nineteen and a half thousand", - Zelensky specified.
He noted that these are the losses Ukraine can estimate, but the number of Ukrainians killed in the temporarily occupied territories remains unknown.
"We do not understand the full number—thousands, tens of thousands of civilians who have died in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. When russia attacked, it surrounded several cities and destroyed them to the ground with tanks and artillery. We do not know how many people were killed there, unfortunately, because in the cities we de-occupied, where we entered, we found mass graves. They carried out mass executions, mass torture. You know, in small towns with just a few thousand residents, we found 500 bodies in a single mass grave. So, everywhere russia occupied and took control, we do not know how many thousands of people they killed there", - Zelensky explained.
It was previously reported that the U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine and russia Keith Kellogg stated that Ukraine's losses in the war are three times higher than the combined U.S. losses in Vietnam and Korea.
