According to U.S. intelligence, putin still aims to seize all of Ukraine’s territory, despite the ongoing negotiations with the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump on ending the war. This was reported by "The Moscow Times", citing NBC News, which references four Western intelligence officials and two members of the U.S. Congress.
"We have no information indicating that putin is currently interested in a real peace agreement", - one U.S. Congress member stated.
According to NBC News’ sources, current intelligence suggests that putin still hopes to ‘outlast Ukraine and Europe’, believing he can eventually take over the entire country. "He thinks he is winning", - one Western intelligence officer said, adding that heavy losses on the battlefield have not deterred putin from his objectives or prompted him to halt military actions.
It was previously reported that putin instructed the russian delegation in Saudi Arabia to display ‘maximum friendliness’ toward the U.S. and Trump.
