Donald Trump’s criticism of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky exceeded all expectations in moscow. Bloomberg reports this, citing sources.
"Even the kremlin was surprised by the harsh tone of Trump’s comments, which even president vladimir putin himself has not used. According to a person familiar with the situation, the criticism surpassed all of moscow’s expectations regarding how the American perspective on the war could be turned in russia’s favor", - the publication writes.
Although russian officials do not fully understand Trump’s negotiation strategy and fear traps and unexpected turns, they intend to take advantage of the opportunity to maximize benefits for russia in any agreement aimed at ending the conflict, said the anonymous source.
As previously reported, Trump called Zelensky a "dictator" who "scammed" the U.S. out of $350 billion.
Later, the White House urged Kyiv to tone down its criticism and quickly sign the mineral resources agreement promoted by U.S. President Trump.
