Denis Pushilin, on the air of a russian propaganda TV channel, cynically accused Ukraine of allegedly planning to destroy Donbas. According to his unsubstantiated words, the Ukrainian Armed Forces "were focused on urban battles", which would inevitably lead to the destruction of the infrastructure of populated areas. The leader of the "DNR" expressed the opinion that it was the beginning of the "special military operation" that prevented these plans.
In reality, it was russian aggression against Ukraine that turned much of Donbas into ruins. As a result of the so-called "liberation", not a single settlement captured by the russians survived. Local media and social media groups acknowledge this fact.
