Negotiations between representatives of russia and the U.S. in Istanbul have ended. This was reported by russian media on February 27.
The talks lasted for six hours and ended without significant statements. According to preliminary reports, the discussion focused on the operation of embassies in moscow and Washington.
"The russian delegation left the site of negotiations with the U.S. in Istanbul without comment", - russian public sources wrote.
According to russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, the parties had previously agreed on restoring embassy staff numbers during their last meeting in Riyadh on February 18.
Earlier, media reports indicated that these negotiations were a continuation of the meeting between U.S. and russian delegations that took place on February 18 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Additionally, journalists from The Times reported that amid these events, U.S. President Donald Trump announced a 25% tariff on imports from the European Union, causing concern among Ukraine’s European allies. Furthermore, Trump stated that Ukraine could "forget about joining NATO", further complicating the international situation.
