The U.S. president told journalists about this during a late-night flight back to Washington from Florida, Reuters reports.
"I'll be speaking to president putin on Tuesday. A lot of work's been done over the weekend", - Donald Trump told reporters.
He clarified that he plans to discuss with the russian dictator the possibility of territorial concessions by Ukraine and the fate of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant. "We'll be talking about land. We'll be talking about power plants", - Trump said.
"We want to see if we can bring that war to an end. Maybe we can, maybe we can't, but I think we have a very good chance", - the White House chief said.
As previously reported, the U.S. presidential candidate had promised to end the war in Ukraine within 24 hours. He later called it an ironic joke.
