There are no grounds to believe that the enemy, having superiority on the front, will agree to a genuine ceasefire within the negotiation track. This was stated in a comment to OstroV by former spokesperson of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, military expert Vladyslav Selezniov.

"During the summer offensive campaign, the enemy will attempt to attack and capture four key locations that form a single agglomeration: Sloviansk, Kramatorsk, Druzhkivka, and Kostiantynivka. To ensure the success of these attacks, the enemy is establishing footholds: one in the Lyman direction, the second in Chasiv Yar and Toretsk, where intense battles are currently taking place, and the third in the Pokrovsk direction", - he said.

According to Selezniov, russian forces are now laying the groundwork for the upcoming summer offensive campaign.

The military expert recalled that none of the previously concluded ceasefires with russia had worked, as the enemy continuously violated them.

"I believe that this negotiation track will not lead to a ceasefire either. Putin and his inner circle aim to destroy Ukraine as a state, while we seek to preserve our independence. We have no common ground. As long as both we and the russians believe we have the resources to resolve these issues through military means, discussions about a ceasefire are pointless. In my opinion, a real end to the war can only come through the capitulation of one of the sides", - Vladyslav Selezniov emphasized.
