During negotiations in Saudi Arabia, russia and the U.S. discussed issues of safe navigation in the Black Sea, as russia complained about attempts to limit its access to the grain and fertilizer markets. This was stated by russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, according to russian media.

According to Lavrov, russia allegedly supports the restoration of the Black Sea Initiative but in a more acceptable form for all parties. The russians demand that the new Black Sea Initiative contain no ambiguities.

Lavrov stated that russia is concerned about food security in the Global South and East. Therefore, russia wants to ensure that no one attempts to deter it from the grain and fertilizer markets.

He also said that both the russian and American delegations are reporting the results of the negotiations in Riyadh to russian dictator putin and U.S. President Donald Trump.

"Security guarantees for russia from Ukraine can only come as a result of an order to Zelensky from the U.S. Europe directly contradicts the position of the Trump administration, which speaks of the preliminary parameters for resolving the conflict in Ukraine", - Lavrov stated.

Earlier, deputy chairman of the defense committee of russia’s Federation Council, Vladimir Chizhov, stated that no joint statement was adopted following the U.S.-russia negotiations due to "Ukraine’s position".
