This was reported on March 27 by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi.

"Due to the increased intensity of enemy actions and the attempt of the enemy to push forward and shift combat operations into the territory of the Sumy oblast, I worked in there with brigades of the Air Assault Forces, Marine Corps, Territorial Defense, mechanized units, and several other formations. Here, in the operational zone of the 'Kursk' troop grouping, our warriors continue to conduct a defensive operation to prevent the enemy from breaking through deeper into Ukraine’s territory. With the same goal, Ukrainian troops are conducting effective counteroffensive and assault actions. During my work, I thoroughly examined all problematic issues related to the organization of combat support and made decisions regarding the replenishment of ammunition, drones, and the relocation of reserves", - Syrskyi noted.

According to him, in the seven and a half months since the start of the Kursk operation, the total losses inflicted on the enemy by Ukrainian forces amount to more than 55,000 personnel. Of these, over 22,200 are irreversible losses, more than 31,800 are wounded, and over 940 have been taken as POWs.
