The U.S. will not ease sanctions against russia or enter into any bilateral agreements with it until a ceasefire in Ukraine is achieved. This was stated by State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce, according to DW.
“There will be no negotiations, no decisions, no arrangements until this slaughter stops”, - Bruce said.
The head of the State Department’s press service also noted that russia’s missile strike on Sumy, which killed 35 people, raised even more questions about “who really wants peace and a ceasefire”.
Bruce called the war in Ukraine a “meat grinder”, in which “nothing has changed”.
Earlier, The Wall Street Journal noted that U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and presidential envoy for Ukraine Keith Kellogg advised Donald Trump to be more cautious about putin’s “diplomatic intentions”.
