This was stated during an online briefing by Serhii Honcharov, Head of the Department for Civil Protection, Mobilization, and Defense Work of the Donetsk Oblast Military Administration, according to Ukrinform.

“In total, the population in the oblast as of April 15 stands at 282,490 people”, - Honcharov said.

Specifically, according to the regional administration, 21,492 children still remain in the territory of the Donetsk oblast under the control of the government of Ukraine.

Evacuation efforts continue in the oblast, with more than 1,217,000 civilians evacuated so far, including 190,000 children and about 46,500 people with disabilities.

The statement recalls that mandatory evacuation of the civilian population in the Donetsk oblast has been ongoing since August 2, 2022.
