Press secretary of the president of the russian federation, Dmitry Peskov, stated that “Kyiv has still not responded to the ceasefire declared by russia from May 8 to 11” and called this lack of response “manipulation”, according to russian media reports on April 29.
Peskov insists that it was the russian side that “took the initiative”, and that putin “made a gesture of goodwill” by declaring a temporary ceasefire “during the days of Victory anniversary celebrations”.
Peskov hypocritically claimed that the current situation makes it obvious “who is truly striving for peace and who is an apologist for war”.
“Failing to give a direct response to such an initiative from President Putin is more than just manipulation”, - declared the press secretary of the russian dictator.
As reported earlier, Zelensky clearly stated that there is no reason to wait until May 8 — there should be an immediate and unconditional ceasefire.
