“At 11:00 p.m. Kyiv time today, the UN Security Council will hold an important meeting, convened by France’s presidency of the UNSC, regarding russian aggression against Ukraine and its ongoing terror against civilians. Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha expressed gratitude to his French counterpart and friend Jean-Noël Barrot for organizing this meeting and for his steadfast solidarity with Ukraine”, - the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry reported via Telegram on April 29.

“Ukraine is committed to peace efforts. We agreed to the U.S. proposal for a full ceasefire 49 days ago, while russia did not. This is clear evidence of who is interested in peace and who wants to continue the war. ...Defending justice, sovereignty, and peace must be a shared responsibility. Ukraine is strong—but not alone”, - wrote Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha on X on April 29.

He called on Security Council members to express their firm support for Ukraine’s steps toward peace, to clearly condemn russia’s escalation of terror against civilians, and to take a principled stance on the need to increase pressure on moscow.
