The Minsk agreements are no longer a mechanism for achieving peace and resolving the conflict in the Donbass. This was said at the National Expert Forum of the Gorshenin Institute today by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov, - correspondent of OstroV reports.
"I believe that the Minsk agreements are dead… Can the Minsk agreements be implemented as a real mechanism for achieving peace and resolving the conflict? I am convinced that no, especially, in the manner in which the Russian Federation is trying to interpret these agreements. I think there must be the following agreements - Vienna, Paris, any other, where the principles that are laid and discussed by all politicians now should be interpreted very clearly", - he reported.
Among such requirements, Avakov called complete withdrawal of Russian troops from the territory of Ukraine, joint control at the Ukrainian border with the UN peacekeepers, introduction of Ukrainian judicial authorities on the territory of Donbass and Crimea, as well as holding of election.
"And I do not care who wins this election. More importantly, we will restore the rule of law, state flag, state judicial authorities and start working in a different frame of reference", - the minister noted.
