The newly elected President of the PACE, the Spanish Pedro Agramunt called the Russian Federation to stop supporting militants in Donbass, to regain control over the occupied territories of Ukraine and release Nadezhda Savchenko. He stated this during his first speech after the elections during the winter session of PACE in Strasbourg, - reported Ukrinform.
"Russia still supports separatists in eastern Ukraine. It must do everything possible to return these territories under the control of Ukraine. It is necessary to release (Nadezhda) Savchenko, "- said the new head of the PACE.
According to him, the situation in Ukraine continues to cause concern and remains explosive. "Territory, controlled by separatists, remains to be a place where there are massive human rights violations", - said Pedro Agramunt.
