Ukrainian Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko has announced his plans to resign. He stated this today at the Verkhovna Rada, - correspondent of OstoV reports.
"To prove that no one clings to power, today I am submitting my letter of resignation to the president of Ukraine. And you need to consider this question in parliament. I ask you to do this during the current week. I did my work and will do it", - he stated.
"Everything I promised to Kateryna Handziuk in the hospital was done and will be done. But I cannot afford myself the dual power in the country, when the law enforcement system is being destroyed without evidence, even for the crimes that have been solved. As head of the law enforcement system, I will file a resignation today, and you will decide whether Mustafa Nayem (MP, - OstroV) will lead the investigation and discover the perpetrators from the TV screens, or law enforcement agencies that are subject to criminal liability", - Lutsenko added.
