The State Border Service of Ukraine did not let Metropolitan of Donetsk and Mariupol of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate Hilarion cross the line of demarcation. This information was confirmed by spokesman for the department Oleh Slobodian, - Hromadske Radio reports.
According to him, the border guards acted on the basis of decision of the Security Service of Ukraine.
It was earlier reported on the website of the Donetsk Diocese of the UOC MP on December 9 that Metropolitan Hilarion was traveling from CADO to the territory of Donetsk controlled by Ukraine - to the Holy Assumption Nikolo-Vasilyevsky Monastery in the village of Mykilske of the Volnovakha district. According to the press service of the diocese, on December 7, the SBU canceled an electronic pass through the line of demarcation to the metropolitan. The next day, he was allowed into the occupied Donetsk, and there were no problems at the entry-exit checkpoint. However, on December 9, while trying to go back to the territory under the control of Ukraine, the border guards did not let him through the line of demarcation.
