The International Monetary Fund may cease support programme for Ukraine. It is reported by 112.ua with reference to the statement by the Managing Director of the IMF Christine Lagarde.
"I am concerned about the slow progress that Ukraine demonstrates in improving governance, fighting against corruption and reducing the influence of vested interests on politics. If there is no significant effort to give a new impetus to reforms in governance and the fight against corruption, it is difficult to imagine that the IMF support programme will continue in the future and be successful. Ukraine risks to return to the practice of failed economic steps, plenty of which it had in its recent history. It is vital that actions of the leaders of Ukraine return the state on the encouraging way of reforms," - said Lagarde’s statement.
