Despite russia's aggressive war against Ukraine, German Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz spoke in favor of maintaining the G20 format. Deutsche Welle writes this.
"One thing is clear: the G20 must continue to play its role", - the head of the German government stated on June 27.
It is emphasized that Scholz did not give an unequivocal answer to the question of whether he would sit down at the negotiating table with russian president putin.
"…By that time, the situation in the world can change a lot", - the chancellor stated.
Let us recall that the next summit of heads of state and government of the group of leading economic powers, which includes, in particular, the russian federation, China and Saudi Arabia, should be held in Indonesia in November. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky will also take part in the summit at the invitation of the authorities of the country.
