Ukraine wants peace and offers a formula of five components. This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, addressing the delegates of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly on September 21, - the UN News website reports.

"Ukraine demands punishment for trying to steal our territory. Punishment for the murder of thousands of people. Punishment for the torture and humiliation of women and men. Punishment for the catastrophic turbulence that russia provoked with its illegal war, and not only for us, Ukrainians, but for the whole world. For every nation represented in this hall of the UN General Assembly", - Zelensky stated.

It is specified that he called on the international community to deprive russia of "the right to war", deprive it of its right of veto, establish an international tribunal and create an international compensation mechanism.

Zelensky stressed that he speaks on behalf of a state that is forced to defend itself, but which "has a formula for peace".

"I appeal to all those who want to hear what needs to be done to achieve peace", - the president said.

He added that he wants to present a formula that is effective not only for Ukraine, but also for everyone who may find themselves in the same circumstances.

"This is a formula that provides for punishment for crimes, protection of life, restoration of security and territorial integrity, guarantees security and strengthens the resolve to defend ourselves", - the head of the Ukrainian state stressed.

"Ukraine wants peace. Europe wants peace. The world wants peace. And we saw who is the only one who wants war. There is only one subject among all UN member states who would now say, if he could interrupt me, that he is satisfied with this war - his war," Zelensky stated.

He stressed that Ukraine is fighting courageously on the battlefield, using its right to self-defense in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter.

According to the President, the Ukrainians are making progress in this struggle and clearly see what the end of the war will be and what guarantees of a lasting peace will be. In this regard, Volodymyr Zelensky recalled that the UN Charter proclaims the equality of nations, the inviolability of borders and the protection of human rights and dignity. According to him, Ukraine will defend all these values by expelling the occupiers.

Speaking about the first point, punishment, the President clarified that it is about avoiding impunity for crimes of aggression, for violations of borders and territorial integrity and for damages. He called for imposing not only sanctions on russia, but also blocking trade and all relations with it, as well as depriving it of its veto power in the UN Security Council. The President also recommended that personal restrictions be imposed on propagandists.

It is emphasized that the second point of the peace formula is the protection of life.

The President called restoration of security and territorial integrity the third point of the peace formula. He recalled that with its war, russia undermined maritime security, food security, radiation, energy security and the system of protection against weapons of mass destruction.

It is noted that the fourth point of the peace formula is security guarantees. In this regard, the President recalled that every nation has the right to security guarantees. He informed that Ukraine has proposals to update the security architecture for its country, Europe and the whole world.

It is specified that Zelensky called determination to defend the fifth point of the Ukrainian formula of peace. He believes that without this, the other four points will not work.

The head of the Ukrainian state stressed that the five-point formula he outlined is "the formula of crime and punishment, which is already well known in russia". And according to him, this is the formula of "justice, law and order, which russia has yet to learn". In this formula, according to him, there is no place for neutrality.

It was earlier reported that Zelensky did not believe that putin would use nuclear weapons, but he did not exclude risks.
