The OSCE criticized working hours of the checkpoints in the ATO area in Donbass. It was announced by deputy head of the OSCE mission Alexander Hug at the briefing in Skype from Donetsk, - reports the correspondent of OstroV.
"Checkpoints close unexpectedly early. Sometimes people stay overnight at checkpoints because of it. But they are potentially dangerous hot spots, " - said Hug.
He added that the 4 weeks ago 4 people who had to stay overnight near the checkpoint were killed due to shelling kin Yelenovka occupied by militants.
Eyewitnesses report daily about huge queues at both Ukrainian and militants’ checkpoints. Sometimes people can’t cross the border for several hours due to problems with a database. From time to time hundreds of cars stay overnight in the open field.
At the same time, the State Border Service of Ukraine reported that checkpoint will work according to the summer time as of May 26th and the working hours of the checkpoints are from 6.00 to 20.00.
